MONEY
IDENTITY
There is no name field in Gauntlet. The name over
your cell is your wallet: 0x1a2B…9fD0, first six,
last four, checksummed, monospace.
YOU ARE YOUR WALLET
Every surface shows the same identity: the label on your cell, the kill feed, the in-game leaderboard, the season board, the chat, the global board. Hover a name anywhere in the UI and the full address appears; click it and it is in your clipboard, ready for the block explorer.
WHY WE KILLED PSEUDONYMS
- Impersonation is structurally gone. A name you could type was a name anyone could type. Your display name is now derived by the server from the address that signed your entry; chat messages are stamped with it server-side. A client claiming to be someone else gets corrected, not believed.
- Reputation compounds. The wallet that tops the leaderboard is the wallet that mined the points, the wallet that claims at the vault, the wallet you saw eat three whales on Tuesday. One identity, verifiable everywhere, on-chain and in the pit.
- It reads like trading. A pit full of addresses is honest about what this is: traders, on the record, hunting each other's collateral.
- One field less between you and the arena. Connect, stake, enter.
PRIVACY, STATED PLAINLY
Wallets act in public by nature: deposits, claims and points are
already on-chain or served by public boards. Gauntlet adds no
doxxing on top: an address is all anyone ever sees. Want a fresh
identity? Rotate wallets: that is crypto working as
designed.
